Five years ago we were all sent home to “stop the spread”, to practice “social distancing”, and be “all in this together”. It quickly turned into a politically partisan farce, with “obey the science” being the rallying cry for some of the most nonsensical policies of the modern era. Practically everything we were told was a lie, and anyone asking questions was shouted down and marginalized. I don’t miss it.
Many of the numbers are in, now that the dust has settled, 5 years after the fact, and they’re not what we were told, by any stretch of the imagination, by the Big Pharma Controlled Corporate Press:
From Swiss Policy Research:
Overview
Lethality: The overall infection fatality rate (IFR) of the novel coronavirus in the general population (excluding nursing homes) is about 0.1% to 0.5% in most countries, which is most closely comparable to the medium influenza pandemics of 1936, 1957 and 1968.
Age profile: The median age of covid deaths is over 80 years in most Western countries (78 in the United States) and about 5% of the deceased had no medical preconditions. In many Western countries, about 50% of all covid deaths occurred in nursing homes.
Vaccine protection: Covid vaccines provided a high but rapidly declining protection against severe disease. Vaccination could not prevent infection and transmission (known since June 2021). A prior infection conferred a more durable immunity than vaccination.
Vaccine injuries: Covid vaccines caused severe and fatal vaccine reactions, including cardiovascular, neurological and immunological reactions. Because of this, the risk-benefit ratio of covid vaccination in healthy children and adults under 50 years of age was poor.
Excess mortality: Global pandemic excess mortality is close to 20 million deaths, which is about 15% compared to normal global mortality and about 0.25% compared to global population. Some of the additional deaths were caused by indirect effects of the pandemic and lockdowns.
Symptoms: About 30% of all infected persons show no symptoms. Overall, about 95% of all people develop at most mild or moderate symptoms and do not require hospitalization. Age and obesity, in particular, are major risk factors for severe covid.
Treatment: For people at high risk or high exposure, early or prophylactic treatment is essential to prevent progression of the disease. Numerous studies found that early outpatient treatment of covid can significantly reduce hospitalizations and deaths.
Long covid: Up to 10% of symptomatic people experience post-acute or long covid, i.e. covid-related symptoms that last several weeks or months. Long covid may also affect young and previously healthy people whose acute covid infection was rather mild.
Transmission: Indoor aerosols appear to be the main route of transmission of the coronavirus, while outdoor aerosols, droplets, as well as most object surfaces appear to play a minor role. Pre-symptomatic transmission may account for about 30% of all community infections.
Masks: Face masks had no influence on infection rates, which was already known from studies prior to the pandemic. Even N95 masks had no influence on infection rates in the general population. Moreover, long-term or improper use of face masks can lead to health issues.
Lockdowns: In contrast to early border controls (e.g. by Australia), lockdowns had no significant effect on the pandemic. However, according to the World Bank lockdowns caused an “historically unprecedented increase in global poverty” of close to 100 million people.
Children and schools: In contrast to influenza, the risk of severe covid in children is rather low. Moreover, children were not drivers of the pandemic and the closure of schools had no effect on infection rates in the general population.
PCR tests: The highly sensitive PCR tests are prone to producing false positive or false negative results (e.g. after an acute infection). Overall, PCR and antigen mass testing had no effect on infection rates in the general population (exception: to sustain border controls).
Contact tracing: Manual contact tracing and contact tracing apps on mobile phones had no effect on infection rates. Already in 2019, a WHO study on influenza pandemics concluded that contact tracing is “not recommended in any circumstances”.
Vaccine passports: Vaccine passports had no effect on infection rates as vaccination cannot prevent infection. Vaccine passports could, however, serve as a basis for the introduction of digital biometric identity and payment systems. NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden warned already in March 2020 that surveillance could be expanded during the pandemic.
Virus mutations: Similar to influenza viruses, mutations occur frequently in coronaviruses. The omicron variant, which may have emerged from vaccine research, showed significantly higher infectiousness and immune escape, but 80% lower lethality.
Sweden: In Sweden, covid mortality without lockdown was comparable to a strong influenza season and somewhat below the EU average. About 50% of Swedish deaths occurred in nursing homes and the median age of Swedish covid deaths was about 84 years.
Influenza viruses: Influenza viruses largely disappeared during the coronavirus pandemic. This was not a result of “covid measures”, but a result of temporary displacement by the novel coronavirus, even in countries without measures (such as Sweden).
Media: Overall, media reporting on the pandemic was rather unprofessional, increased fear and panic in the population and caused a hundredfold overestimation of covid lethality. Some media outlets even used manipulative pictures and videos to dramatize the situation.
Virus origin: Genetic evidence points to a laboratory origin of the new coronavirus. Both the Virological Institute in Wuhan (WIV) as well as some US laboratories that cooperated with the WIV performed various kinds of research on similar coronaviruses.
The podcast transcript:
Five years ago yesterday, on March 13th, 2020, we all got sent home for the novel coronavirus era. And it was a unique time in many ways. I and people like me have been reflecting about those times. And there are a lot of good podcasts and a lot of good articles. And it is probably, in my lifetime, the greatest sociological experiment ever witnessed. And there are some good ones out there, but they're not necessarily society-wide like this one or worldwide like this, right? Political stuff is political stuff and it's country-based and it's not something that you can say, well, the COVID rules in Sweden versus the COVID rules in New York versus California versus Florida versus Vietnam versus Nigeria.
Those things don't work with a lot of stuff, but with COVID it does. And it was fascinating and dangerous and worrisome. And again, for people like me and many of you listening to this, it makes you angry for a lot of reasons because the experts and the public institutions here in the United States, I'll limit myself mostly to the United States because it's where I live, were not just wrong, but they were mean-spirited and harmful in so many ways. And I'll start with the school angle because it's one I know well, and it was something I was talking about at the time that was frustrating. And it's kind of the template for what we're gonna talk about today because this template, this paradigm with regard to schools and school children is indicative of not only the entire COVID era, but how much of the population, particularly the quote unquote leadership class or ruling class or laptop class behaves.
What I'm talking about is the idea that schools had to be closed at all.Even when the coronavirus era was going on, the plandemic or scamdemic or conronavirus era, however you wanna label it. And there was all of those things going on. You had the idea that students had to go home because young people were vulnerable.Even at the time, that was not true. And I'll go a step further because I checked. The corrupt, broken, illegitimate, gross and inaccurate Center for Disease Control and Prevention, the CDC, their numbers for Americans 17 and under of dying from the coronavirus, those numbers were so small that they were not even a rounding error.
Think of it this way as well. The numbers that the CDC had in coronavirus deaths were including young people with lupus, diabetes, obesity, various health issues, any immunocompromising disease that exists, and they died quote unquote of COVID-19, boom, classified as a COVID death. So at one point at the height of the corona era, I checked the CDC website by age in the country, and the number was somewhere around, I wanna say, I'll be generous and say it was 500.I think it was less. I think the number was smaller than that, but it was around 500.
I checked because I was really upset because A, I was watching the elites and the organized top of the pyramid, the empire that never ended, the Illuminati, whatever you wanna call those people, I was watching them do a test run to see how much they could control the human population, which is what their goal has been from the beginning of time. And they were working, they were making it happen, and so that was enraging. But then the other thing was there was no mathematical or scientific evidence that students needed to go home.
I could see at the time that this was the case. The official organization, the CDC, was even saying it. And there were people talking about how we gotta keep our kids safe, and they need to be home, and distance learning, and online instruction. It was obvious that students, particularly students in a neighborhood like the one where I work, were going to lose the most. And it's true. The ninth graders were in fourth grade when the novel coronavirus era hit. And they're coming through the system, and those students have come through high school now each year less and less capable. Some of that is corona era coming through, because when you're in fourth grade, fifth grade, there's serious building blocks being put in place, and none of that was happening.
And so it was now, and this is how people work, now it's okay, it's actually even trendy to talk about how students were harmed during the coronavirus era. And they lost instructional time, and now we need to do something about it.Well, you could have done something about it five years ago as a person with some clout, or power, or even a band of parents, if you did what I did, which took 20 minutes.
Sitting in room 227 at the time, I went to the site and checked out what are the numbers, this is the height of the corona era, and the numbers were tiny. There was no risk to students, and everybody knows this. And the other thing is this, Sweden never closed its schools. And people were talking about, of course, these are the top of the people at the universities, the top people in the press, the many people in government, usually progressives, because the whole COVID thing got politicized for whatever reason. They were saying, oh my God, the numbers are gonna be terrible, Sweden is gonna be a bloodbath, they're gonna be piling bodies to the sky, and it never happened.
Sweden was fine, because corona, which was created in a lab, which got people like me banned from social media, I didn't get banned for that, but it was at the same time, wasn't affecting children, it wasn't affecting young people, they're too strong, too thin, too capable, their immune systems are too powerful to have any problem. And so they didn't. But go back to the late summer 2020, late 2020, early 2021, and it was schools closed, keep them closed, and then you had people who didn't do that, like in Georgia, Florida, Sweden, Montana, Idaho, and they had their schools open running normally, and everything was fine. And those areas have not been affected as much, and those students didn't have their educations vandalized by a bunch of liberal progressive screaming harpies, harridans, talking about the children.
Those people were wrong, and they've never apologized, and they never will apologize, and there may be people even listening to this who were like that, and I can understand being afraid. I had my keys sprayed by my wife with Lysol when I came in the house for a little while there, we figured it out, and we saw the nonsense happening all of a sudden, but these things take time.
Yeah, right away, I get it. But after a couple of months, by the time it got to April or May 2020, you should have been able to figure a couple of things out that you were being played, and they were playing with your life, and your kids' education, and the kind of future of freedom in your country. When the New York Times had a picture of the Black Trans Lives Matter protest in Prospect Park, and the woman in the above-the-fold, gigantic color picture of the New York Times dancing around with all the other people there, not wearing masks, all together in a group, dancing outside, this is near Grand Army Plaza in Prospect Park, you should have woken up with that.
There were other things like that, too. There were other protests going on. There were BLM protests, mainly, and many people were like, well, hey, wait a minute. We've had our children pulled out of school. We are not allowed to go outside and sit with our friends and have a cocktail outside of a restaurant. That was Gavin Newsom in California. He banned outdoor dining. And there are other things going on that we can't do, or you have to wear a mask, and these people are outside together in a group with no mask. And it wasn't, oh, everyone can go outside and hang out maskless.
That's revisionist history. Those were not the rules. The rules, in my state, anyway, was wear a mask, social distance, no, restaurants were closed, and mask up.Oh, but you know what they said with the protest was, it's more important. And you had people in the Pacific Northwest put out there that racism was a public health hazard more serious than COVID. That's what they said.
And they said similar things here on the East as well. So right away, you should have realized that you were getting played. You can do this activity that is politically what we like and want to do, but your kid can't go to school and you need to wear a mask when you're sitting outside in a group, but which you shouldn't do.
In some places you're not allowed. So, I mean, science doesn't work that way. The world doesn't work that way. Intelligent people can see that immediately. And those people who can't, I don't think you can talk with them about this. They just don't get it. So you had where I live, you could go to Target, no problem. I could go to a liquor store, no sweat. I could go by Lotto, but I couldn't go into a restaurant and sit down and eat with my wife. For a while here, that was banned. You had to be outside. You were not allowed inside. Oh, unless you had to go to the bathroom, of course. And then COVID ignored you when you went to the bathroom. And the other thing was this, these are just things I'm riffing here.
This is just by memory. I'm in the car. I don't have an outline or anything like that. But the other thing, one of my favorites, and by one of my favorites, I mean one of the things that actually worked on American citizens here in New York City that they believed was that you could walk into a restaurant with your mask on. No, but let me rephrase. You had to walk into a restaurant with your mask on, but you could take your mask off when you ate.
There were a couple of Karens and a few Beckys and a few intellectual houseplants who were like, you know what, we should pass a law that you can pull your mask down to take a bite, but then you had to put your mask up to chew. This was floated seriously. And there were people who went for it, that if you sit down and eat, okay, but when you stand up and walk to and from your table, you have to wear a mask.
Those were the rules. Now, anyone who thinks that's scientifically sound, I don't really know what to say to a person like that. You really need to be stupid to think that that is viable, that there's any quote unquote science there. And I could go on and on. I don't wanna relitigate the COVID stuff. A lot of it, well, it was a lab leak.It was created in a lab, which people said at the time, many of them were blacklisted. Many of them were fired. Scientists who dared speak up about that took real risk.
There was a young woman who, woman, for those ladies listening, in case you think girl power trumps everything, there was a young woman at Johns Hopkins University, a young research assistant, brilliant young lady. And she analyzed the COVID numbers and the fact that the regular flu had disappeared and there were comorbidities involved in the numbers. And she said, you know, the numbers don't really work. We're safer than we think. And here's the statistical proof. And it's an exhaustively researched, amazing bit of research going on that she did.And they suppressed it. I don't even know if you could still find it. I linked to it on my old blog. I don't know if it's still available. But when I saw this young woman's work, amazing statistician, a wonderful bit of mathematics, her work gets stifled and memory holed.
It was one of the many things that showed me that the fix was in. That what we were being told by our leadership class was pure, unadulterated horseshit. But it worked. And there are people who still think that social distancing and six feet meant something.
They've admitted that they made up six feet. Congressional testimony, where'd it come from? Well, we just made it up. But your friend thinks that six feet meant something. There are, including friends and relatives of mine, who to this day think that masks had an effect. That masks made a difference. The unmasked and math numbers look exactly the same. There, you know, any graph where you see any difference, you'll notice they cherry pick the data, either by the time or by the age of the people that they're talking about. There's no difference. The Cochran Institute did what it always does and does exhaustive studies on these things. And it showed that masks had no effect.
Now, on this topic, the Cochran Institute, right away they came out with their stuff. And then the usual suspects came out with how their study was flawed, how their stats didn't really mean what it meant. There were the usual New York Times and CNN bits about the Cochran Institute's data is flawed and here's how you need to think about it. You know, all of that stuff came through. But if the Cochran Institute's data had said something else, oh, it would have been front page news. But, you know, they have to cater to the herd. They need to cater to the intellectual salamanders out there, the ballast that can't really think for itself and get scared when it starts to think that CNN or Fox or the New York Times might be lying to them or their government is lying to them.
So it was really gross what happened.
You'll hear people talk about how they were unable to be with their grandmother when she died. Or they'll put out there that their father died alone and they weren't allowed to be there. You know, this is modern era.You can't put on, let's say the premise was real. You can't put on a hazmat suit and have a funeral and hold gloved hands and say something nice. Right, let's just buy into the premise. But no, no, no, no. Your elderly grandma or your dad had to die alone because, well, the politicians were into the COVID thing full blast. It became a political issue.
Everyone who's right thinking and watches CNN or reads the New York Times knows that you couldn't be in the same room with somebody. The whole thing was just nasty and gross and disgusting. And the way I think about it and a lot of my like-minded friends think about it to a degree, I get a little more amped up about these things than most, is how many people went for it and for how long and to what detail they bought into the hoaxery and the unscientific reactions.
Look, I bought into it for, as well, about two weeks. My wife bought into it for about a month. And then right away, again, you have outdoor protests and it's a pandemic of the unvaccinated. Remember that one? I do. You had people who had gotten vaccinated. You know what they were in danger of? They were in danger from the unvaccinated.
Do I need to explain to you how that doesn't make any sense? If you are vaccinated and the vaccines work and they're safe and effective, why would you be in danger from anyone unvaccinated? You've gotten the COVID vaccine. But no, a pandemic of the unvaccinated was what we were told. That was part of the problem. And then you also had, besides the pandemic of the unvaccinated, you had long COVID, which is really kind of long vaccinated because people have had long-term debilitating effects from the COVID vaccine. I'm not even gonna get into that because people lose their mind when you talk about it.
But this is the world we're in.
And I don't know about you, but I learned a lot about people in general and how easily moved they are. They really buy into authority. The ad veracundium fallacy is the fallacy of authority. And it's when you believe something because someone in authority said it. Well, maybe you should tell your friend on Facebook or your auntie who still wears a mask in her car when she's driving by herself, that they got played, that they got snookered six ways to Sunday. I don't know if it'll help.
Maybe you shouldn't. I really don't do a lot of that anymore. I just talk with you guys and I'll leave it at that. But the children, of course, particularly the children in areas of high need, like where I am in Mount Vernon, they lost and they lost big. And I'm never gonna forget that.
And I'm not gonna let go of the rope.
And I'm not gonna trust these people again. Ever. And I don't think you should either. But we'll see when the next plandemic comes through. I don't know how long they're gonna wait before they do this act on the herd one more time. They gotta wait a while because too many people remember too much.I'm just not gonna listen. And I don't think you should either. Well, let's cross that bridge when we get to it. Take care, everybody.
