Great post. My thought is that if AI is doing all the work, what happens to the essential skill of critical thinking? AI can churn out content, but it can't think. Not its job.
How can you teach or even just encourage critical thinking with the bots in the room?
I believe that even with AI doing a ton of work, it isn't learning, nor is it doing anything except reaching back into the history of the internet and quickly getting / processing information in a way we've never seen before.
In the sense that people still pick up a guitar to learn how to play, or read about the various eras of history, a quality teacher can spark that inner desire to learn, and some have it inherently. It's the opportunity for dynamic instructors, and, like in many professions, will weed out many of the hacks and time servers.
A person who can reach a teenager or young person and get them excited to know, to learn will command a premium - this is the way I see it.
The AI created picture at the end of your post is a real hoot! It looks like the girl sitting to the left has three legs.
That’s AI up to its usual tricks. Truly the ghost in the machine ….
