The French think that everything is a conspiracy. As much as I endorse that level of conspiratorial thought, it’s heavy even for me. Americans have been trained, as one would train a seal, that nothing is a conspiracy - that everything is on the up and up. I think both approaches are wrong.
Once you realize that people in power will work together to further their own interests, the “conspiracy” world comes into a much better focus.
It also helps you to see the cloddish antics of the Top of the Pyramid much more easily, and it will erase the built in fear and despair.
Further analysis:
Operation Mockingbird.
Operation Northwoods.
Kennedy assassination CIA “conspiracy theorist” memo 1035-960.
None of the above are theories, conspiracy or otherwise. One can read all about them if one wants ones mind turned into gravy.

Excellent article! I definitely makes me concerned as a fellow educator. But, it also sheds light on how and why things are done the way they are done. I honestly don't think I have had such a succinct summary of what happened to Math (in NY in particular), like ever. I miss the days of HS Math where it was Math 1/Algebra - "red book", Math-2/Geometry "blue book", Math 3/trigonometry - "green book". And then the thinking was if you do a 4th year of math, there are different (as in harder or simpler) versions of pre-calculus, for those that want to do 4 years of math, but don't want to totally stress out. Of course the kids that excel at math do calculus as a 5th year of HS math.
Thank you Josh - I appreciate that. The elementary school math situation is a scandal of the highest degree in plain sight. Replace “Gates” with “Koch” and “Obama” with “W Bush “ and it never sees the light of day. That they were able to pull it off is unconscionable.
And they wonder why homeschooling is exploding in popularity among everyone.
